Favicon Generator turns one image into a practical browser and app icon package without uploading it.

The ZIP includes ICO and PNG assets, a web manifest, and ready-to-use HTML link markup.

What you can do

  • Crop to fill or fit the entire source inside a square.
  • Adjust crop focus and use a transparent or solid background.
  • Generate 16, 32, 48, 180, 192, and 512 pixel assets.

Before you start

  • Sources below 512x512 pixels may look soft at the largest app-icon size.
  • Animated GIF input uses the first frame and produces static PNG and ICO assets.
  • The generated manifest has empty name fields for you to customize.
  • Detailed icon artwork should be checked at the smallest 16-pixel size after download.

How it works

  1. Choose the GIF image you want to turn into icons.
  2. Adjust the square crop, fit, and background color.
  3. Download a ZIP with the generated favicon and app icon files.

Common questions

Which icon files are generated?

The ZIP contains 16- and 32-pixel PNG favicons, a 16/32/48-pixel ICO, a 180-pixel Apple touch icon, 192- and 512-pixel Android icons, a web manifest, and a copyable HTML link snippet.

What if my source image is small?

You will see a warning when the source is smaller than 512x512, since larger sources produce crisper icons.

Will an animated GIF remain animated?

No. Favicons in this package are static PNG and ICO assets created from the GIF's first frame.
